Brexit is about 'the cut'. Or why complaining about Brexit damage makes no sense to Brexiteers

Brexiting. A series on being English. # 14

If your thoughts about the possible causes of Brexit are becoming too entangled, you can understand it in one simple phrase that includes everything: Brexit is an application of the principle of 'the cut' in English culture. The idea that continentals would be equal or even above English people was too much to bear for the vast majority of the English. That is what caused Brexit and nothing else.

There are a lot of British blogs and vlogs talking about the economic and political damage of Brexit. They try to prove Brexit was wrong and do that by showing where the pain of Brexit is being felt. This makes no sense because Brexit was not about economics or politics. Which is why the mainstream media are not reporting on Brexit damage and Brexit problems, or, otherwise, simply put the blame on the EU.It could never be the English who are at fault, could it?

The downfall of trade and the virtual disappearance of the farmers and fishing industry, and other industries that may follow, is just collateral damage. The landed gentry may even regard the disappearance of farmers as a bonus: they now will have wider hunting grounds.😄

English elites do not care for the 95% of the population that is not part of them. It is not that they are arrogant or bad people or anything, it is simply part and parcel of English culture. It is called 'the cut'. You don't care and do not talk let alone commingle with people below a certain class level. That goes for all classes, by the way, not just the elites. You cut them off. Brexit is like that, Brexit cuts off the lowly continentals.

The EU did not want to listen to the idiotic ideas of the drunk twits from England and so these twits thought them 'below par' and therefore, in their eyes, Brexit was 'justified'. Brexit is an application of the cut-principle. The idea that continentals would be equal or even above English people was too much to bear for the vast majority of the English. That is what caused Brexit and nothing else.

Brexit bears no relation to economics, nor politics or power. Brexit was and is an application of 'the cut' principle. This is why 'remoaning' about economic damage falls on deaf ears.

As long as you do not present the originators or rather perpetrators of Brexit with the bill, personally, people will not understand what you are talking about when you complain about the economic damage that Brexit causes. Remoaning is no use because the initiators themselves are never confronted with the consequences of Brexit .  Farage is the exception. Arron Banks stopped paying Farage after Brexit was done, and Farage is not in the EU parliament any more either. Brexit costs Farage an estimated 50.000 a month that he does not get which is why he is now in the USA trying to make a buck by supporting the craziest of the crazy - people who want to abolish democracy and establish a fascist state 'to be free from the deep state and all them conspiracies'.

But Farage seems to be the only one that lost money. BoJo became PM, JRM and Banks got their money shielded from public scrutiny, and I bet a lot of the people with family trusts are happy with that, too.
